From the President "Coming in time for the September vintage race week-end, courtesy of Bob Millstein, is the famous Hansgen Special, celebrating the 60th anniversary of its dramatic win in the 1953 Watkins Glen Grand Prix. The car, utilizing the engine and suspension from his Jaguar XK-120, is an original design, chasis and body built by Walt Hansgen. Watkins Glen was the race win that put Hansgen on the map and indirectly led to his long tenure with the Briggs Cunningham race team. In his career, Hansgen raced with success in Formula One, NASCAR, the Indianapollis 500 and world championship sports car events. The Hansgen Special will reside with us until the end of the year." In addition this the 30th anniversary of my custodianship of the car.
